IX ISTE State level student convention @ Excel Engineering College

We are writing this letter to invite the students participation in the IX ISTE State Level Students Convention 2010 to be held at Excel Engineering College, Pallakkapalayam Namakkal District Tamil Nadu on 30 January 2010. As you may aware the ISTE Convention provides a common platform to Academicians, Administrators, Policy Makers, Professional Experts and Students to discuss important issues concerning Technical Education in the country.

The program includes presentation, discussion of Technical papers, Project Exhibition and several Technical events for the students. The contemplated areas of discussion are enunciated in the themes given in the poster. The deliberation will centre on the theme Innovation In Technical Education Role of Students with special emphasis on the sub themes like Curriculum development for industrial needs, Industry Institute partnerships, Seamless engineering, Engineer as Entrepreneur, Education vs. Employment, Technical Education to meet global challenges.

We therefore request you to make as many students as possible from your institution to participate in the convention as well as contribute papers for presentation. The students are also requested to register for the events listed in the poster.

We hope the convention will provide professionally an exciting experience to all the delegates.

Technical papers of original work and creative thinking are invited from members and others who are interested in technical education on the following topics.

E. Industry Institute partnership

F. Curriculum development for Industrial needs

G. Women in Engineering ( Exclusively for Girls)

H. Technical Education and role of Polytechnics( Exclusively for Polytechnic Students)

Paper Code is A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H respectively,For example paper code for Education vs Employment is B

Submission Rules

In the mail to be sent, name file should be the title of your paper.

Subject of the mail to be sent should follow the format:

< Paper Paper Code Title>

Eg:

The name of the document should be The Title of the Paper

Papers only in the prescribed format will be passed to the first level screening

An Email will be sent confirming the selection of the paper.

All papers should be mailed to excelistepaper@gmail.com on or before last date.

Poster designing

The contest is all about your creativity and how effective you are in telling the given theme(s). Think beyond the reality to show the world what actually the seeming strenght of reality is. The real nature of the theme must be brought out with exhuberant colours and better illustrations.

The prelims round comprises of creation of animated clips based on general theme and the short listed participants have to present an animated show based on the technical theme on the next level of the event, which will be given on spot.

A secret treasure expedition will be conducted within the Excel territory.

What danger may lie in your path? Dare to unveil the forbidden treasures that lie within the shadows.The completely non-technical event is the TREASURE HUNT where the students are made to hunt for the treasures around the campus.

The most energetic teams will be winning exciting prizes!

Quiz

A general quiz competition will be conducted to test the knowledge pertaining to current and general topics both in technical and non technical areas.

Each team should consist of a maximum of 3 members

The top 6 teams selected in the screening test will get into the finals

A preliminary screening test will be conducted.

The questions are objective based which includes both Technical & Non-technical

Product launch

Advertising is 85 percent exaggeration, 5 percent omission and 10 percent commission. Show your marketing tactics to make yourself an advertising guru. Show us what you ve got, a skit or a spoof! Spontaneity and creativity will be encouraged. We will offer you a platform to market your product in all possible ways to show it is The Best. The event portrays the marketing skills of a budding entrepreneur in this highly competitive world
