National Law Institute Of India, New Delhi was established in the year 1988,
Nationals Law Institute of India established in the year 1988 and inaugurated by the then Union Law Minister Shri Bindeshwari Dubey on the auspicious occasion of the United Nations International Day Against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking on 26 June 1988. National Law Institute of India (NLII) has been established as a Constituent Unit of The Global Open University Nagaland with the active cooperation of the World Institution Building Programme (WIBP) for studies, training, research, consultancy and publications related activities in the fields of juridical sciences by using tools and techniques, principles and theories for overcoming the problems in areas such as Jurisprudence, Indian Legal and Constitutional Matters, Public Interest Litigation, Legal Aid, Paralegal Services, Right to Information, Constitutional Law, Administrative Law, Labour Laws, Banking Law, Intellectual Property Rights Law, Environmental Law, Hindu Law, Muslim Law, Company Law, Women and Child Laws, Human Rights Law, Arbitration and Conciliation, Criminology and Penology, Law of Torts etc.All the 1000+ Law Colleges in India are being encouraged to keep a Training cum Examination Centre in their Campuses with a view to encouraging all LL.Bs who have graduated from these Colleges. Self instructional study materials have been prepared for the benefit of the distance learners. The examinations are conducted in June and December by The Global Open University Nagaland at all important places in India as well as in other selected countries.
Our Alumnus will progress in to a variety of careers. Different subjects taught are distinctive in drawing on and developing skills which are characteristic of study in both the art and science of legal education. In addition, the study of some areas of specialised courses can, through reflective activity, serve to enrich the skills of the individual alumni. However this does not mean that all successful participants will develop optimal employability skills through merely joining these programmes.
