India bags 3 gold medals in first IOAA
MUMBAI: The Indian contingent bagged three gold medals in the first International Olympiad in Astronomy and Astrophysics (IOAA) which concluded in Thailand on Saturday.
Mehul Jain of Udaipur, Akshay Subramaniam of Hyderabad and Soumyashant Nayak of Bhubaneshwar bagged one gold each, a release from the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education said here today.
Hosts Thailand, who also got three gold medals topped the tally as India came joint first in one of the theoretical problems. Poland and China got two golds each.
