Engineering education in India is in trouble. There simply aren't enough instructors for the numbers of students. That's true even at the seven top-tier IITs, or Indian Institutes of Technology. By one measure, India is a victim of its technological successes. Professors can make much better salaries in industry, and they're flocking to it.
