Women's Christian College was founded in 1915 as a result of the joint venture of 12 mission fields of inter-denominational and international levels, with a mission to provide higher education to women in liberal arts and science. It is a government aided minority institution and is affiliated to the University of Madras. With tremendous progress made through the years, the college planned for autonomy and was granted the same by the University Grants Commission. Since 1982 the college has been functioning as an autonomous institution.

Welding Research Institute (WRI) was established in November 1975 by Government of India with UNIDO and UNDP assistance under the management of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchirappalli, India. WRI has been constantly interacting with world renowned institutions for updating the knowledge base on latest technologies and assimilating experience. This Institute has been established to cater to the welding needs of the Indian welding industries and for contributing to the growth of welding and allied technologies.

V.J.P College of Catering & Hotel Management, located in Siruganur, Trichy, in Tamilnadu, under the aegis of the V.J.P. Educational Trust,has been modelled along the lines of the leading Hotel Management Institutes of the world and has tie-up arrangements with hotels, that match the best in the industry to provide on the job training as a part of the course curriculum.
