Yoga is an integral part of Ayurveda. Since 1982 the Dept of Swasthavritta of G.A. Mahavidyalaya was providing guidance regarding health maintenance through Yogic & Naturopathic processes. To further these activities a Dirghayu Kendra was established in October 1986 by the University. In January 1994 the University with the technical support of Kaivalyadham - Lonawala and partial financial support of UGC established a Yoga Kendra.

This college was founded on 1st July 1946 as the united effort of students, teachers and Gulabkunverba Ayurvedic Society. Then this college was affiliated to the State Faculty of Ayurvedic and Unani Systems of Medicine, Bombay and later on with the Board in Gujarat. A course approved by C.C.I.M. is being conducted since 1976 giving the degree of B.A.M.S. At present this college is a constituent college of this University.
