Management education at Guru Ghasidas University campus formally triggered off in the year 1988. Two diploma courses in the department of management were floated. Looking to the changing and increasing needs for professional education and training, University started a two year full time MBA programme in the academic year 1992-1993. MBA programme is run by Lal Bahadur Shastri Institute of Management Studies & Research under the faculty of management, Guru Ghasidas University. The institute incessantly strives to prepare people to become a leader in the "new mangement environment".

The Indian Acupuncture research and training centre with its inception on this auspicious day meant the uprooting of human ailments At least it pledged so to the ailing humanity. This also is the fulfilment of a long-made promise to the people of the subcontinent. The Initiation of Acupuncture - the old yet world-approved Chinese mode of treatment was the need of the hour Both peoples and practitioners and awaited eagerly its initiation here, for years both diffidence and whetted curiosity for this esoteric and highly effective means of cure.

Chanakya Academy, set up in 1992, started one year Diploma Program in Fashion Design and Interior Design for the first time in Raipur. These courses were well received. At that time there was no English Medium College in Arts, and Commerce streams in Raipur. The Academy proposed in 1993 to then MP State UGC to commence Graduate level Course in Business Management. The proposal was accepted by the Government of Madhya Pradesh and Chanakya Academy was given permission to start B.Com, BBA from July 1994.
