BCECE 2024, conducted by BCECEB, is the Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination. BCECE – An Exam Overview

Eligibility Criteria

Admission is open to applicants who meet any of the following criteria:

  1. Residents of India with parents who are permanent residents of Bihar.
  2. Children of refugees registered in Bihar.
  3. Offspring of parents working for the Bihar Government, even if they are residents of other states.
  4. Children of employees of the pre-reorganization Bihar Government whose positions are still transferable to Bihar/Jharkhand State.
  5. Dependents of Government of India employees stationed in Bihar or working in Government of India-run institutions or factories in Bihar.
  6. Offspring of United Nations employees currently stationed in Bihar.

Engineering and Technology (4-Year Course):

Eligibility Criteria: Candidates must have passed the 10+2 examination with any combination of Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational Subject, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Entrepreneurship as specified in Annexure-7.

For Agriculture Engineering:

  • Minimum 45% marks (40% for reserved category) in the above subjects combined.
  • Alternatively, candidates can have passed a minimum 3-year diploma examination with at least 45% marks (40% for reserved category), subject to availability of vacancies in the first year. In case lateral entry vacancies are filled, universities will provide bridge courses to ensure parity in knowledge.

For Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Women’s Institute of Technology, Darbhanga (4-Year Course): (a) Information Technology: Minimum qualification: Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics or Biology. (b) Computer Science & Engineering: Minimum qualification: Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Science, or Biology.

Pharmacy (Four-Year Course):

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed the 10+2/equivalent examination with Physics and Chemistry as compulsory subjects and Mathematics/Biology as optional subjects. Applicants appearing for the intermediate or equivalent examination can apply, provided they have passed the 10+2/equivalent examination by the time of interview/counselling.

Physical Examination: Admitted applicants will undergo a medical examination. Admission is granted only if the applicant is declared fit in the examination. A separate fee will be charged for this examination.

Age Limit: There is no age limit for engineering courses. For pharmacy, applicants must be at least 17 years old as of December 31 of the examination year.

Medical Stream:

Eligibility: Candidates must have passed 10+2/Higher Secondary/I.S.C./equivalent examinations with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology for medical stream courses such as Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, and Paramedical Graduate Courses. For B.Sc. Nursing, a minimum of 45% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and English in 10+2 is required.

Age Limit: Minimum age for admission in the medical stream is 17 years as of December 31 of the examination year.

Agriculture Stream:

Eligibility: For courses at Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur):

  • Bachelor of Agriculture (50% seats): Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
  • Horticulture Graduate (50% seats): Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
  • Bachelor of Forestry (50% seats): Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Mathematics.
  • Bachelor of Agriculture, Horticulture and Forestry (50% seats): Passed I.S.C. (Agriculture) with specified subjects.

For courses at Bihar Animal Sciences University, Patna:

  • Gavya Technical Graduate (B.Tech Dairy Technology): Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with specified subjects.
  • Bachelor of Fisheries Sciences (BFSC): Passed I.S.C. or equivalent with specified subjects.

Physical Examination: Applicants selected for admission will undergo a medical examination. Admission is granted only if found eligible in the examination. A separate fee will be charged for this examination.

Age Limit: For admission to Bihar Agricultural University, Sabour (Bhagalpur), the minimum age is 16 years as of August 31 of the examination year. Minimum age limit is not prescribed.

Candidates who belong to the Bihar state and have a valid caste certificate of Bihar state they will get reservation in the college.

How to Apply

Application forms for BCECE will be out in the month of February 2022 so all the candidates are advised to stay connected with the official site of BCECE Board to get all the updated details regarding BCECE.

Application Fee

The candidates have to fill the BCECE form through the online mode, after filling all the details and uploading photograph and signature, candidates have to pay the application fees. The application fees is Rs. 1000/- (for General and OBC candidates) or Rs. 500/- (for SC and ST candidates).

– The candidates belong to PCMB group are required to pay the application fees of Rs. 1100/- (for General and OBC candidates) or Rs. 550/- (for SC and ST candidates). The candidates can pay their fees either through the online mode by using credit/debit card or they can also pat it by using bank challan.

Paper Pattern

The question paper of Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination will be as per the exam pattern.

  • Mode of Exam – The exam  is a Offline test.
  • Question type – The questions are Multiple Choice Questions.
  • Number of Questions – There are 100 questions per paper in the entrance exam.
  • Total Marks – Maximum marks in the exam is 400 Marks per paper.
  • Exam Duration – The entrance exam is of 1.5 Hours per paper.
  • Language of Question Paper – The question paper is in language English and Hindi.

Marking Scheme – 

  • Candidates get +4 marks for correct answer.
  • And negative marks is -1 for incorrect answers.

The candidates appearing for BCECE exam can download their BCECE admit card from the bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.

BCECE Answer Key

The answer key is the set of correct answers to the BCECE question paper. When, where, how to get it is as follows.

You can check the BCECE answer key only after the exam ends. If BCECEB releases the BCECE official answer key, then you can download it at bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.

Results

The result of the exam has been announced in the official website or student can also check the updates about the result here in this page.

How to check BCECE Result?

Step-1: First go to bceceboard.bihar.gov.in.

Step-2: Then click BCECE result link.

Step-3: Next, if BCECE login opens, then key in your login details. 

Step-4: Thereafter check your score and rank in BCECE exam and print pdf.

Counselling

  • BCECE Counselling will be done on the basis of ranks obtained by a candidate in the entrance exam.
  • To appear in counselling, candidates will have to register themselves and apply for choice filling.
  • As per the scheduled dates, candidates have to report for handwriting test. Candidates can also check the provisional allotment status, but that status will not be considered as the final allocation status.
  • Only after qualifying the handwriting test, qualified candidates can check for the final seat allotment and can download their allotment letter of BCECE.
  • After successful completion of counselling and downloading allotment letter, candidates must report to the allotted institutes for admission, fee deposition and document verification.
