Annamalai University was founded in the year 1929 and has grown into a multi disciplinary institutional tree serving the society. The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FEAT) was established in the year 1945 with two departments, namely Department of Engineering and Department of Technology. The Department of Engineering was divided into four departments namely Civil, Structural, Mechanical and Electrical Engineering in the year 1978 and consequently the Department of Structural Engineering came into being on 27.07.1978.
