College of Management Studies was started in 1988. The College is affiliated to the Andhra University and is permitted by the Government of Andhra Pradesh. It is also recognised by All India Council for Technical Education (A.I.C.T.E). The College campus is situated at a distance of 10 kms from the city and is well connected through the public transport system. The College has a unique distinction of offering BBM course for the first time in Andhra Pradesh.

The College of Management Studies has a spacious campus extending over an area of about 10 acres. It has developed excellent infrastructural facilities including good academic building , a well equipped computer center and a good learning resource center (Library and Audio-Visual Lab etc.). While College of Management Studies possesses well-experienced and highly qualified faculty; it lays emphasis on utilising the services of guest faculty drawn from the Industry, Government Organisations, Research Institutes etc. College of Management Studies also provides hostel accommodation for out station students.

Gandhi Institute of Technology and Management (GITAM) was started by a group of public-spirited industrialists headed by VBC group and others in 1980 with the objective of offering courses in engineering and management required by the growing industrial sector. The Governing Body of GITAM consists of prominent and socially committed industrialists and professionals. Located on a picturesque campus with sylvan surroundings, overlooking the Bay of Bengal, the Institute places emphasis on practical and professional knowledge and experience to enable participants to secure employment immediately after completion of course.
