Sister Nivedita College of Professional Studies (SNCPS) has been established by Sister Nivedita Foundation with approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), Ministry of Human Resources Development, Government of India, to impart management and, professional education.Sister Nivedita Foundation, an organisation dedicated to the cause of excellence in education has accepted a challenge in setting up this business school to create a class of managers who would be unique in their input - strength and strong in their approach to problem solving. The needs of professional managers are growing at a pace which outstrip it's supply and perceptions do suggest a widening of the gap with more rapid industrial advancement, technological progress and surging business investments. The corporate sector which absorbs a significant chunk of management graduates is expanding very fast with a sizable upswing in company floatation's. There has been a major shakeup in the financial services sector and its absorptive capacity itself has been spectacular. This macro-scenario has transformed the somberness of yester years into robust optimism for the 'tomorrows'. The Programme Design. It is a science of many sciences which include sociology, psychology, economics, commerce, politics, public administration and many other. It is an interdisciplinary field requiring a comparative study and an integrated approach to men, matters , affairs, events and trends .
It is an art in the sense that it requires an operational and applied skills of very high order. An application, devotion and dedication of very high standard. A strong will conviction and commitment to succeed, create, invent, innovate and discover. A dexterity not of the ordinary but of an exceptional kind . Management is more an art intending to achieve and excel than to merely make a profit or derive a benefit out of an act or an activity.
It is culture in the sense that it not only requires a technical, scientific and a rationalistic awareness and understanding but also a societal sensitivity. An urge not only for creation of wealth but also for promotion of welfare. It requires an attitude of productivity and creativity than merely an attitude of acquisitiveness. Management is basically concerned with 'Leadership' and 'Vision'. All management of higher order requires higher men of values and virtues in the long run -- men who not only can achieve and attain but sustain. No business in the world can sustain itself long unless it is managed by men who not only care for themselves but also for others.
Sister Nivedita College of Professional Studies cares for these three dimensions of management while imparting management education to its students. It does not neglect one against another.
