Established in 1950, the college is the brainchild of Late Raja Bankatlal Gopikishan Badruka who mooted the idea of starting a college for Information Technology. Later, it was affiliated to the Osmania University.In the year 1964, the College shifted its campus to Kachiguda.
Bankatlal Badruka College for Information Technology (BBCIT), named after the founder, was established in 1990, to impart instruction of excellence in the area of IT. The college has been able to carve niche for itself in the academic world in a short period of time due to hard work, dedication and scholarship of staff.
The course has been approved by All India Council for Technical Education [A.I.C.T.E], the premier organization for technical education under the Govt. of India. It is a three year (6 sem) course. Any graduate is eligible for admission to MCA. Admissions are made on the basis of Integrated Common Entrance Test (ICET) and conducted around April/May every year.
