Seminar on Women Empowerment and Inclusive Growth

Centre for Research, Innovation and Training of The IIS University in collaboration with Indian Council of Social Sciences Research, New Delhi has organized a two days national seminar on ‘Women Empowerment and Inclusive Growth’ on Friday. Chief Guest of the seminar Mr. Rajeshwar Singh, IAS, Principal Secretary, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries and Gopalan Dept. MD, ICDF, Jaipur has delivered the keynote address in the inaugural ceremony. In his keynote address he emphasized on making changes in developmental model to promote women empowerment. He further said that the gap between rich and poor is getting deeper and deeper and marginalized sections of society especially women of these sections suffer the most. He also suggested the need of inclusive growth not only for marginalized sections of the society but women also.

Mr. Singh also said that such seminars where social workers, experts, research scholars, academicians, policy makers come together to discuss contemporary issues, help in reaching to some concrete solution which will further help the regulators as well as the society to strengthen the position of women and thus speeding up the inclusive growth of Indian economy.

The seminar is witnessing resource persons from far flung areas of the country including Rajasthan, New Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, West Bengal etc. The well known speakers and women studies experts including Prof Ravindra Vinayak, Director, Delhi School of Professional Studies, New Delhi, Dr. Sanket Viz from MDU Rohtak, Dr. Ritu Diwan, President of Indian Association of Women Studies, Prf. Nirupama Prakash from Amity University, Prof. Asha Kaushik, Prof N D Mathur from University of Rajasthan, Prof T N Mathur from Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Prof. Shamim Modi from Prof Shamim Modi, Prof. Urmila Modi, Dean, Maharaja Group of Colleges, Udaipur, Journalist Dr. Meena Sharma will be present for the deliberations.
