State level debate competition- ‘Praash’ organised at GIM

Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently organised its annual state wide inter-college debate competition- ‘Praash’ in association with Emotional Intellectual Society (E.I.S), which is observed as National Education Day. The topic of debate was Make in India: A dream or practical possibility?

The Make in India campaign is designed to facilitate investment, foster innovation, enhance skill development, protect intellectual property and build best-in-class manufacturing infrastructure.

The event was conducted in two rounds, with eight teams reaching the finals. The final round witnessed teams from BITS Pilani Goa, Goa College of Engineering, GIM- Health Care Management and GIM fighting their way ahead.

GIM students Neha and Avinash Chandani won the first place, while Tanay Shah and Mayuri Singh from GIM (Healthcare Management Program bagged the second place. The third place was shared by Sanjeev Rajan and Shyam Prasad from GIM and Meghana Gupta and Ashwin Krishnana from BITS Pilani, Goa.

The event was judged by Dr. Neeraj Amarnani, Prof. Finance, GIM and Ms. Kanupriya Katyal Assistant Professor, Marketing, GIM.Cash prizes worth Rs. 12,000 were given to the winning team and participation certificates were given to all participating teams. The competition concluded with great response and participation from students and the faculty members.

    A three-member team of Goa Institute of Management (GIM) won the second place at the biggest Marketing Simulation Competition in the world, organized by ESIC Business and Marketing School, Spain. The competition was in its 19th edition this year.

    A three member team from Goa Institute of Management has qualified for the final Panaji 8thround in an international marketing competition involving 1800 student teams from 76 countries. The annual global marketing competition conducted by ESIC Business & Marketing School in Spain started in April this year. The 4 stage competition had 2 teams each from three regions: Asia-Oceania, Europe- Africa and America, qualifying for the finals. Goa Institute of Management and IIM Bangalore are the top two teams to qualify for the competition from the Asia-Oceania region.
