Diwali celebrated at V.M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE)

It was a night of sparkle, shine, dhoom and dine at the Diwali celebration organized by V.M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE). The institute successfully hosted its first Diwali gala dinner to celebrate the end of its first term at its sprawling campus in Raia, with a cultural extravaganza, excellent hospitality and festive cheer.

The event was hosted by Professor Irfan Mirza, Director, VMSIIHE who is leading the team at India’s finest hospitality management institutes. Present at the occasion were Mr. Dattaraj V. Salgaocar, Chairman of the Society, Mr. Gude, Dr. Bhanu Murthy and the team at VMSIIHE. Students and their parents too partook in the celebrations.
International faculty members Sebastien Semenzi, one of the leading chefs in France and Georges Ortiz, one of the most well-known names in the field of Food and Beverage studies from Switzerland who are presently down in Goa to conduct session and educate students in the finer nuances of the hospitality trade, also joined in the Diwali celebrations.

Said Prof Irfan Mirza, Director, VMSIIHE “This institute offers the best in terms of course curriculum and infrastructure. We are delighted that we have completed the very first term of the institute and it’s time to celebrate the achievement. The institute also welcomes our international faculty members Sebastien Semenzi and Georges Ortiz who have contributed to the course content and are now in Goa to train and educate the students”.

After a quick tête-à-tête, the celebration started with the traditional custom of lighting the lamp followed by a cultural evening put up by the students of the institute. A spectacular display of fireworks against the backdrop of the night sky lit up the campus. The evening ended with fine cuisine and lots of laughter.

The illustrious V.M.Salgaocar Group which has established a business legacy in the state has set up the V.M Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE). The Vishwa Saraswati Society set up by the V.M Salgaocar Group will manage and promote the hospitality education institute. Mr. Dattaraj V. Salgaocar is the Chairman of the Society while Mr. Shivanand V. Salgaocar is the Vice-Chairman.

V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education (VMSIIHE), Manora-Raia, today signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Turismo de Portugal. The MOU was signed by Mr. Dattaraj V. Salgaocar, Chairman of VMSIIHE, and Mr. Luis Araújo, President of Turismo de Portugal, in the presence of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of Portugal António Costa who is presently in Goa on a state visit. Professor Irfan Mirza, Director of V. M. Salgaocar Institute of International Hospitality Education lead the efforts in forging a collaboration between the two nations.
