Goa Institute of Management inaugurates ‘Breakout Room’ at its Sanquelim campus

One of India’s premier B-school, Goa Institute of Management (GIM) recently inaugurated the ‘Breakout Room’ at their Sanquelim Campus. This innovative room was inaugurated by Mr. Rajiv Nevgi, Businessman and Director, Goa Industrial Development Corporation in the presence Mr. Raman Madhok, GIM Board member along with the faculty and students. The room has been named after Mr Rajiv Nevgi’s father, late Mr. Meghashyam K. Nevgi.

The series of Breakout Rooms created on the campus can be used by the students who want to sit together and brainstorm for their research projects or for various activities where they need to group and discuss plans. The rooms are also used for ideation sessions by the students.

Talking about the Breakout Room, Mr Nevgi said, “It is really a proud moment for me to be inaugurating the Breakout Room at the Goa Institute of Management in the memory of my father late Mr. Meghashyam K. Nevgi. At GIM, the Breakout Room will help in nurturing the students’ creative thoughts and ideas, which will further hone their skills.”

GIM provides all the facilities required for a business school student’s requirements. From wi-fi connectivity, RFID issue of library books and access to other utilities, spacious living quarters for students and faculty and conference rooms to fully air-conditioned classes with the latest technology to aid teaching, the new GIM campus does not compromise on quality and features that will ensure a wholesome studying environment.

Two Day HR symposium Anveshan concludes at GIM

The annual national level HR Symposium of Goa Institute Management (GIM), Anveshan was recently held at the institute’s campus. This year the theme of Anveshan was ‘Thought Leadership’ due to the ardent belief that as management students and future members of the workforce, it is imperative that the attitudes reflect an inherent desire to ideate, innovate, execute, and make a difference in the society. Keeping this theme in mind, various events were designed.

The lab was inaugurated by Mr. Aditya Puri, MD, HDFC Bank in the presence of Fr. Dr. C. Joe Arun, SJ, Director, GIM, and Mr. P.F.X. D’Lima, CEO and Member on the Board of Directors of GIM , along with faculty and students.

Students turned professional managers received the coveted diploma after having completed over 22 months of academically packed rigorous training with exposure to live industrial projects.
