Indian Railways to set up Railway University

D. V. Sadananda Gowda, the Railway Minister has announced that a Railway University will be setup for Employees. The university will have technical as well as non-technical subjects. "I am contemplating setting up of a Railway University for both technical and non technical subjects," Gowda said.

Railway University will provided summer internships for engineering and MBA students.

Indian Railways will tie-up wth technical institutions for introducing subjects related to Railways. Skill development subjects will also be introduced. Existing staff of Indian Railway will be sent for short duration courses of technical and non-technical nature.

    Maharashtra Government decided to setup Technological university. This new university will be named Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technical Sciences University, and will be headquartered at Lonare in Raigad district. This university will have four divisional centers: Nagpur, Mumbai, Pune and Aurangabad, and five sub-centers at Amravati, Nanded, Jalgaon, Kolhapur and Solapur.
