60th Convocation of Gujarat University held

S S Mantha, Chairman, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) attended the 60th Convocation of Gujarat University as chief Guest.

Mantha urged the university to go beyond books and educate students in extracurricular activities too.

More than 60,000 students were awarded certificates which was embedded with a micro chip containing all information about the student.

AICTE to hold CMAT twice a year from 2013 AICTE has decided to conduct Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT) twice a year from 2013. The entrance exam will be conducted after a gap of 6 months. This would help interested candidates to sit again for the entrance test. The best score would be considered while admission in any B-School. From 2013 it will be mandatory for all AICTE approved colleges to take admission by considering CMAT scores.
MAH - MBA / MMS – CET postponed to 4th March 2012 by State Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) due to clash in dates with CMAT State Directorate of Technical Education (DTE) has postponed MAH – MBA / MMS – CET from 26th February 2012 to 4th March 2012 due to clash in dates with All India Council for Technical Education's (AICTE) Common Management Aptitude Test (CMAT). Dates for MCA entrance exams will remain the same i.e 4th March 2012. The decision was taken in favor of students so that they do not suffer and answer both the exams peacefully.
AICTE has announced dates for CMAT The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has announced dates for CMAT (Common Management Admission Test). It will be held online between 20 - 28th February 2012, twice daily for 3 hours each.
Increase your educational standard or get shut down AICTE (All India Council of Technical Education) is going to shut down colleges which are operating below educational standards and impose restrictions on them in Punjab, Chandigarh and other states. According to SS Mantha, AICTE Chairman, “ He supports colleges with good potential but is against below standard colleges”. He said they are conducting surprise raids in the colleges, and institutions which are below standard will be closed down. SS Mantha said that he is also concerned about the seats lying vacant at various engineering colleges in the country.
All India Council for Technical Education ( AICTE ) had come up with the unique idea to conduct Common Management Aptitude Test ( CMAT ) for admission to all AICTE approved management colleges for MBA courses and post graduate diploma in business administration. It was a great move as students had to appear for one single exam and not multiple exams. But the idea was challenged in court, thus AICTE will be conducting the regular CMAT exam in the year 2012 and students will have to appear for multiple entrance test.
